How does an incinerating toilet work?
Separett® Family II works like a small, high-temperature oven. After each visit, the oven heats up to 550°C and incinerates solid waste while urine evaporates. The result? Clean ash that can be used as plant fertilizer in the garden. The fan draws air through the combustion chamber, oxygenating the combustion, while simultaneously venting smoke and hot air through the exhaust pipe.

General cleaning

Wipe down the toilet both outside and inside with a slightly damp or well wrung cloth with a little cleaning liquid. Do not rinse the toilet with water either outside or inside. The incineration chamber and circuit board may be damaged.

Cleaning the ashpan

When the ash box has been emptied twice the message CLEAN ASH PAN WITH 1L WATER + BIG PROGRAM will be displayed. Confirm by pressing the middle button. Cleaning is undertaken in order to remove the crystals that are formed when urine has been evaporated by the incineration and for the toilet to be cleaned inside. Do the following:

1. Take the ash pan out and empty it 

2. Pour 1 litre of water into the ash pan

3. Place the ash pan back in to the toilet

4. Run the big program

Software

Here you can download the latest software for your Separett® Family 

You can see your current software when you start your toilet or by selecting "info"

If the version below doesn´t appear, we recommend that you update to the latest version. 

To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click on the file below to download the update

2. Open the folders up downloaded

3. Save the update file name "cindi.hex" to a USB memory stick

4. Turn off the toilet

5. Connect the USB memory in the toilet

6. Hold down the "confirm selection button" while starting the toilet

7. Release the button when toilet software appears on the display
